We’re excited to introduce our new Kindergarten Writing Practice Program at Miniature Masterminds!
This program is designed to give young learners a fun place to strengthen handwriting and early writing skills through tracing, writing, drawing, games, and repeated practice.
It is a supplemental practice program, not a complete Kindergarten writing curriculum. Families can use it alongside their regular homeschool curriculum whenever their child needs extra handwriting and writing practice.
Lots of Ways to Practice
Children can work on important early writing skills including:
- Prewriting lines and shapes
- Uppercase letters
- Lowercase letters
- Kindergarten sight words
- CVC words
- Word writing
- Sentence practice
- Capitalization
- Spacing
- Punctuation
- Descriptive writing
- Beginning story writing
Activities are designed to be short, colorful, and easy for young children to use.
Writing Practice Room
The Writing Practice Room gives children several ways to practice independently.
Sight Word Tracing
Children receive one large dashed Kindergarten sight word at a time.
There are no handwriting lines behind the tracing word, making it easier for children to concentrate on following the letter shapes.
When they finish, they simply choose Next Word for another word from the large randomized bank.
CVC Word Tracing
Children can also practice simple three-letter words such as:
cat · bed · pig · hop · sun
The program includes a large collection of short-vowel CVC words, giving children plenty of opportunities to practice early spelling and handwriting at the same time.
Lines & Shapes
Beginning writers can practice the movements they need before forming letters.
Random activities include straight lines, curves, waves, zigzags, loops, circles, triangles, squares, spirals, and many other beginner tracing patterns.
The large activity bank changes the challenge each time children play.
Free Writing & Drawing
Children also have a large digital writing page where they can use a:
mouse · touchscreen · stylus
They can write, draw, practice letters, create sentences, or illustrate their ideas.
Finished pages can be saved, exported as an image, or printed.
Printable Practice Pages
For families who prefer pencil-and-paper activities, the program also includes printable writing practice.
Children can trace dotted letters and words and then practice writing independently on Kindergarten handwriting lines.
Writing Games
Writing practice doesn’t always have to feel like a worksheet.
The program includes 20 interactive writing and language games covering skills such as sight words, CVC words, letter matching, beginning sounds, rhyming, sentences, punctuation, descriptions, and story ideas.
Large randomized activity banks help make replaying the games more interesting.
Extra Practice Whenever You Need It
The Kindergarten Writing Practice Program can be used for:
extra homeschool practice, handwriting review, skill reinforcement, independent practice, learning-center time, or just-for-fun writing.
Children can repeat activities as often as they need and move through the practice areas at their own pace.
