Winter Themed Printable DIY Checker Board Game

Create your own checker board with this fun Winter themed printable game!

We have incorporated game schooling into our schedule lately. I found the kids were responding better to their games than to their lessons so I thought I would shake things up and one day a week add a game day. I picked Wednesday because it’s usually a pretty hectic day with all that we have on that day. The kids were pretty excited about this idea and so far it’s been fabulous. We each pick a game and as a family we play that game. Most of the games we have are educational so they are learning while having fun. While some are just fun. Game school is great for building team spirit, sportsmanship, logical thinking skills, fine motor skills, counting, colors, creative planning, and so many other skills. This week my son asked if we could play checkers. I thought it would be fun to make our own board for the occasion.

It was really easy to put together. I just laminated the board and glued it down to a large piece of card stock. You probably don’t need the card stock as you can just tape the two pieces together. I wish I had held onto enough water bottle lids because these pieces are the perfect size to glue to the top of them!
