Printable Letter A M&M Color Sorting Activity

Printable Letter A M&M Color Sorting Activity

Recently Lou has been getting interested in learning her letters. I signed her up for ABC mouse a couple of days ago and she has been pretty excited to try out her new found knowledge of the letter A. I thought I would try to make her a few fun activities outside of the app for her to practice and experiment. This is our first letter A activity and all you need is a pack of M&Ms… or if you prefer the candy free way, you could let them use a dot stamper.

Download the color circle pattern piece below. Print it out and cut in half if you want.

You could also use stickers, dot stamps, or crayons to complete this activity.

Place your candies in a dish so they can pick them up easily. Keep in mind that there will be a few plopped into the mouth.

The object of the printable page is to create the letter A in M&Ms.

Skills used:
Letter A recognition
Color sorting
Fine Motor pincher grasp
Candy eating (not that this skill was in need of practice, it was perfected long ago)

My older kids wanted to play too… there was candy involved after all so I knew they would. They create a game where they raced to see who could fill up their three circles first.

It was great fun to watch them but there was a lot of “one for the paper…one for my mouth” going on.
