Fright Factory Review Holiday Gift Guide
The Fright Factory is one of those toys that is slightly messy, super sticky, kinda gross, and utterly fun. My kids all three enjoyed creating their own creepy sticky creatures. This is a good choice for the kid who likes to make things and get sticky all at the same time. Inside the box is a device with LED lights on it that lights up. It has a crank on it to move the light up strip up and down the mold. It’s pretty interesting to look at and made out of plastic but seems pretty well made. The kids liked that it looked like something out of a sci fi movie or a mad scientist’s lair. The lightening bolt lights up orange when it is on creating an even more eerie scene.
The box comes with a few different molds and you can get expansion packs with different colors of EwwGoo and molds as well.
CB went first and made a red snake. Bub went second with a blue bug and lil Lou went last with a mixed up colored brain. She did the left hemisphere in blue and the right in red. 🙂 The object is to feel the mold with the goo and then twist the crank with the LED lights over the goo to harden it.
It’s easy to crank and they had fun just watching the light go back and forth across their creations. They probably twisted it a little more than needed but they were having fun so I let them pretend to be crazy scientists creating Frankenstein creatures.
The creatures came out super sticky but in one piece. They then proceeded to throw them at each other and squeal with delight at the idea of throwing a sticky bug at their sibling.
Here is a video of them making some creatures. and showing how the system works!
