Life Lessons Learned From Watching Netflix

I’ve been thinking about all the things I have learned from binge watching my favorite Netflix shows. At first I thought maybe I shouldn’t let it be known just how much I have learned from watching crime dramas and documentaries. It’s possible the internet doesn’t need that kinda information as it could be later used against me in a court of law. After all I am my office’s official “quiet one” as in “It’s always the quiet one.” However, no need to fear my infinite knowledge about the various uses of bleach as the creative outlet this blog provides as well as the escape from reality Netflix provides keep me in a somewhat sane and stable state… Well as sane as a mother of three can be which is usually teetering between Mrs.Cleaver and the local mental ward.

Despite the knowledge I have gleamed from various crime shows, my family has also picked up a few things that I would feel more open in sharing such as the wonderful life lessons my children pick up from the shows they watch and I’m not counting the kicking karate moves my oldest has picked up from Buffy The Vampire Slayer. It would be better if she grasped the lesson about not using her brother as practice but alas that is one lesson that just didn’t stick. The lessons I really mean are the ones about family, love, sharing, and caring about others. Lessons we all could use some refreshing in sometimes. Often we get so caught up in our daily lives and our own selves that we forget that other people are people too. Shows such as Fuller House teach us those lessons in ways that engage even the youngest of us.

Many shows on Netflix have great hidden life lessons that seep into our unconscious thoughts. With their wide range of wonderful preschool shows available your little ones can learn anything from the love of classical music and dance to math skills. Not only are they picking up healthy friendship skills such as loyalty and kindness but they are learning skills that can help them later in school.

There are so many lessons waiting to be learned on Netflix. Here are a few new shows to get you and your family started with!

Why not share with us the lessons you have learned from them!
