MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron is officially out on Blueray and DVD! I can’t express the level of excitement at our planned viewing party. A few friends or coming over to get their crafty hands busy and enjoy the movie. And while I’m picturing 3 little boys and 5 little girls on cupcakes, I’ll show you the craft I intend to do with them! It’s going to be so much fun watching them create and then wear their handmade masks and capes! I have included at the bottom free printable pattern masks for you to print and create your own super hero masks!
MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron is a move my kids have been waiting on since they seen the previews. Super heroes are king around here with the girls and the boys and there is no super hero more highly regarded as Spiderman and the Avengers. To help celebrate our viewing party we went to Walmart to pick up a few items. First of all was the movie which we found in the movie department. Although at our Walmart we had to ask specifically for it at the counter as it wasn’t on the shelf, I seen it out in a display shelf at a different Walmart we went to after the fact. Next was a treat for my son, a Hulk costume so Hulk could smash up the party. (Which by the way Hulk has smashed all week long.) The costume section is at the front of the store usually and there you can find anything from Spiderman to Thor.
I also was able to pick up all my craft supplies for our tutorial while I was at Walmart. For this tutorial you will need foam sheets, scissors, and a tshirt. You can use a tshirt that is stained or your kids no longer can fit for the cape. As I said, below is the patterns for the masks. There are three different shapes for the kids to choose from for their super hero costumes.
The kids will make their super hero costumes to get into the character for a super movie night! They can also wear them out for Halloween if they choose. It’s going to be tons of fun! I know I am excited!
To make the masks: Print and cut out the pattern you want to use. Trace with a marker onto your felt sheet. Cut out your mask. Make two holes in the provided places and add elastic! Now you can hide your identity from all those evil villains!

This cape is simple and safer using the neck of a tshirt instead of putting ribbons around their neck.
Take your shirt and cut the arms off. Do not cut the neck band as this is what will be used to hold it on their necks.
Cut around the neck band to remove the front of the shirt revealing your cape!
Your costume is complete… Almost, there is still room for creativity.
They can create their own super hero logo on the cape!
And then they can team up with their own group of super heroes for a night of watching MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron and battling the forces of evil!
This is going to be one of the funniest parties we have ever had!
Hulk is our the winner around here but I have to ask….
Which Avenger is your favorite?
