I admit that I try at times to relive my childhood with my children. I had an awesome childhood and I just want them to have an even better one. So yes I am guilty of making my children watch shows and movies I love… Usually they love them too. I shared our summer Netflix list with you all earlier this month and told you about our family movie night with Netflix. And now I am going to share three more awesome ways Netflix is helping us bond with our children.

Sharing new shows with the kids.

Not only are most of my favorite movies and shows on netflix, there are shows I am discovering with them. I am a total super hero, scifi, nerd and have watched Dr Who before in small doses when it happened to be on. Now I have the chance to start from the beginning and watch EVERY episode in order. Let’s just say I may or may not have been missing for two days this week due to an impromptu Dr. Who a thon with my boy. Bow ties really are cool.

Keeping the peace because everyone can watch what they want.

We took a vacation earlier this month and Netflix came with us. I don’t know if I could have survived without Netflix. CB is obsessed with game shows and had us watching game shows on the hotel tv. Lou had her tablet watching her Netflix shows… (Scooby Doo, Barney, and Lazy Town). Bub had his streaming device happily watching away as well. Peace was kept withing the realms of the hotel room.

Sibling bonding!

Netflix also creates opportunities for kids to spend quality time together over their favorite shows… For my kids at the moment that happens to be Power Rangers, Might Morphin to be exact.

To Go along with my childhood favorites and to create new favorites for my kids Netflix has some new great shows such as My Little Pony and Inspector Gadget!

  1. I love the new Inspector Gadget. I used to love the original back in the day and I am psyched that my boys can enjoy it now.

  2. I still believe the best cartoons are the old ones ! Better then what’s out now. Thanks for the post!

  3. I use to love Inspector Gadget and Danger Mouse!
I think my 8 year old son would enjoy a Dr Who marathon! My husband not so much!
I’d really love to visit the Dr Who experience in Wales one day.

  4. I love re-discovering the old cartoons. Every time we find an old series and I know the words to the theme song, my kids think I am awesome!

  5. I was all about Scooby Doo back then, that’s for sure! I watched it on Saturdays and on weekdays after school.

  6. My shows growing up was the Flintstones, Scooby Doo, Transformers and GI Joe. We still get to see some of them on Boomerang. Am I showing my age?

  7. We love Netflix. Watching throwback cartoons are one of our favorite things to do.

  8. We don’t have all of those on Canadian Netflix sadly or I’d be having a huge marathon with my kiddos. SO MANY great shows!

  9. I didn’t know you could take Netflix with you. That’s pretty handy, right? I like it. 🙂

  10. Kids will love it for sure. Ahh, almost endless kids shows and movies at NETFLIX will keep them stay still at home 🙂
