It is a little early to be Christmas crafting…. No I take that back. It is never to early to craft something for Christmas but here is my FIRST Christmas craft of the year.

This lovely big bow ornament is based on Lou Lou’s current Minnie Mouse obsession, which I am thinking of making another in black but that idea is in hindsight at the moment.

These are really easy to make and VERY child friendly. Note: if you are one of those parents who doesn’t let their children use glitter you may want to look away as it’s going to get pretty sparkly after this.

What you need:

Styrofoam balls.

Large Christmas Ribbon. Wired ribbon works best.

2 Paint Brushes (one for glue and one for glitter.

20141111_143653Step One:

Cover ball in glitter. You can use the paintbrushes to apply the glue and the other paint brush to apply the glue. Let this part dry. It actually looks really pretty like this and you could just hang it up as is.

Step two: Twist ribbon in the middle and place ball on the twist. Fold the ribbon around the ball and twist at the top. Glue these into place.

Step Three:  Make a Large bow out of more ribbon and stick it on top. Be sure to fluff you bow really nice and fluffy.

How about looking at so really AWESOME handmade ornaments but some very talented bloggers?
